Provide entertainment and activities to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the Centre. The event should appeal to shoppers of all ages, and represent the culture of the Centre and the town of Hounslow. The event should be promoted in local press, on digital channels, leaflets and via the poster sites within the Centre.
We wanted the party to be one to remember – so we booked street dance act (and Britain’s Got Talent finalists) The Twist and Pulse Dance Company to perform during the day. To represent the culture of the area, Bhangra singer H-Dami also performed and was a big hit. Children were entertained by street theatre act Balloonatic and the stilt walking cake girls.
We were honoured that the Mayor, Councillor Pritam Grewal, could join us in cutting our very special Treaty Centre cake which we also shared out amongst shoppers.
We wanted to include members of the local community as much as possible in the celebrations. So, we searched for shoppers who shared their birthday with the Centre (29th September) and selected 10 to come along as special guests. They were presented with gifts on the stage – and really felt like VIPS.
To promote the event, we came up with a special logo. We then booked a four-page wrap in the local paper, which was published the day before the event. We also used the website and Facebook page (which we manage), and produced posters, leaflets and banners to let everyone know what was happening.
The event was a great success, with increased footfall. We had fantastic feedback from the retailers and from customers alike.
